Gisghaast Graphic Recording

What Is Graphic Recording?
Graphic recording is the practice of visually capturing conversations, meetings, teachings, and gatherings in real time. Through drawings, symbols, and words, I create a visual map of what is shared—making knowledge easier to understand, remember, and return to.
In Indigenous spaces, this can support:
- Community gatherings and consultations
- Elder and Knowledge Keeper teachings
- Land-based learning and workshops
- Healing, planning, and visioning sessions
- Conferences, panels, and storytelling events
Why Indigenous-Led Graphic Recording Matters
My approach prioritizes:
- Cultural safety and respect
- Consent and accountability
- Honouring oral traditions and collective knowledge
- Strength-based, non-extractive documentation
This is not just note-taking—it is visual witnessing.
